What is the most meaningful experience you've had as a pre-medical student thus far?
"Medicine had always interested me but I was not really sure if it was worth the long years and hard coursework. However, during my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to shadow a local family practice physician. Even when patients came in with seemingly small issues, they were so grateful when the physician was able to use her knowledge and expertise to help them. It was also fascinating to see how the doctor utilized critical thinking and problem solving to treat her patients. After this experience, I realized that as a physician, I'll be able use my passion for science to change lives for the better!”
